A LITTLE ABOUT US
Powell Performance Fab & Propeller...A Cut Above the Rest and Still Growing
Years spent working at other metal fabrication shops all lead to the same result. Invaluable hands-on experience and knowledge was gained, but Jake had other plans. So early in 2006, with a desire to utilize his own ideas, designs, and creativity, along with the confidence that he could provide top notch customer service, Jake Powell opened the doors to Powell Performance Fab.
The company’s focus originated in the custom fabrication of all metals and Jake’s advanced skills would take these jobs from prototype to production. In July of 2006, Jake became a graduate of the Rundquist Propeller Tools Class. Soon after, the business expanded its services to include marine propeller and impeller repair and became known as Powell Performance Fab & Propeller. The only company in Minnesota to do impeller repair, and do it properly, word of their superior quality spread. People from all over Minnesota trust Powell Performance Fab & Propeller because their finished product is truly a cut above the rest and they are known to be one of the best in the propeller repair business.
Never one to slow down, 2007 saw another expansion for Powell Performance; this time as an off-market vendor for UTV and ATV accessories. An avid rider himself, and tired of the poor performance of stock parts, Jake began designing and fabricating custom accessories for side-by-side vehicles and ATV’s. While Powell Performance will develop accessories for any brand of ATV or UTV upon request, they have specialized in designing quality, performance enhancing accessories for the sporty and rugged Yamaha Rhino.
A Little Bit About The Thrill Seeker Himself…
With a love for driving anything gas powered running through his blood, Jake’s passion for toys, riding, racing, and simply just living on the edge has been the key to his successful and rapidly expanding business. A devoted rider since the age of 4, Jake’s very first solo ride was on an Arctic Cat Kitty Cat. One short ride led to an addiction that has lasted a lifetime.
At the age of 13 Jake entered his Honda 300ex four wheeler in an ATV race at the local county fair. The thrill and intensity of racing took hold and it wasn’t long before he was racing in motocross, snocross, and stock car events. Along with the excitement of racing came the countless hours spent in the shop working on the toys he loved. It was Jake’s obsession with such extreme sports that had him welding at the young age of 15. It was only natural as he got older for him to channel this passion into a career and he went on to earn his industrial welding degree.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet Jake knows that when it comes to riding he is one of the biggest thrill seekers around and there are not many jumps, tricks, or challenging tracks that he won’t try. This mentality carries over into his business as well. Very few projects are too big or too challenging and he continually works with his customers to come up with the best solution, design, and product for their unique needs.
